What to do if the boiler burner fails to start

Boiler burner startup failures are typically caused by power supply interruptions, abnormal fuel pressure, triggered safety interlocks (such as low water level or emergency stop), or malfunctions in the motor or controller. Please systematically check the main power supply, fuel valves, gas pressure gauge readings, and the boiler's safety interlock systems (water/gas).

Common causes and troubleshooting steps—Power and control circuits: Check the main power supply, fuses, and thermal relays (to see if they have tripped). Ensure the emergency stop switch has not been accidentally pressed. Check the burner control panel for error codes or illuminated alarm indicators.

Fuel supply status: Check that the fuel supply valves are fully open. Confirm that the fuel pressure is within the normal operating range and has not triggered high- or low-pressure safety switches. For oil-fired burners, check the oil level, oil temperature, and whether the oil filter is clogged.

Boiler safety interlocks: Check that the water level in the steam or hot water boiler is normal and rule out a "low-water level" interlock trip. Verify that signals from the pressure controller, temperature controller, and air pressure switch are normal.

Fan and ignition components: Listen to the fan motor to see if it is humming or failing to turn; check for capacitor issues or a seized motor. Inspect the ignition electrodes for carbon buildup, moisture, or excessive gap spacing.
