Boiler burner flame temperature

The flame core temperature of a boiler burner is usually between 1000°C and 1800°C, depending on the type of fuel used, the combustion technology and the air-fuel ratio adjustment. The average operating temperature in the entire furnace is generally maintained at 900°C to 1300°C.

Flame temperature of different fuels

Natural gas/coal gas (gas burner): The flame center temperature is generally around 1100°C - 1400°C (in order to control nitrogen oxide emissions in low-nitrogen retrofit burners, the flame temperature will be relatively soft and dispersed).

Light oil/diesel/heavy oil (fuel burner): The flame center temperature is relatively high, usually between 1200℃ - 1500℃.

Pulverized coal/biomass particles: The local flame center temperature can reach 1300℃ - 1800℃ (if special enhanced combustion or supersonic technology is used, the local or central high temperature area may be even higher).

The difference between burner and furnace temperature

Flame core/center temperature: The local highest temperature at the burner nozzle and the moment it is just ejected, which is often the highest.

Average temperature of the furnace: After the heat is absorbed by the water-cooled wall or heating surface, the macroscopic temperature of the entire internal space of the furnace is generally 900°C - 1100°C to avoid excessive temperature causing the slag to melt and coke.
