How to Use and Maintain the Burner of an Oil/Gas Boiler


I. Instructions for Use of the Boiler Burner:


Upon power connection, the burner motor starts, generating an electric spark between the ignition electrodes. After approximately 13 seconds of pre-blowing, the oil pump solenoid valve automatically opens, and the oil mist sprayed from the nozzle is ignited by the electric spark to form a flame.


I. Instructions for Use of the Boiler Burner:


Upon power connection, the burner motor starts, generating an electric spark between the ignition electrodes. After approximately 13 seconds of pre-blowing, the oil pump solenoid valve automatically opens, and the oil mist sprayed from the nozzle is ignited by the electric spark to form a flame. At this time, the flame detector detects the flame brightness, and the controller enters a locked state. The ignition electrodes then delay ignition for approximately 15 seconds before stopping, and the burner enters normal operating condition. If ignition fails, no flame is formed, or the flame detector does not detect flame brightness, the safety alarm system will activate after approximately 10 seconds of safety time, cutting off the burner's start-up procedure, and the fault red light will illuminate. When the burner is first started, if the flame detector detects brightness, the safety system will activate, the controller will not enter the normal program, the solenoid valve will not open, and the nozzle will not spray oil. After approximately 10 minutes of safety time, the fault red light will illuminate. Therefore, when starting the burner in bright light, always cover the flame detector to prevent it from being exposed to light. Once the burner emits a flame, immediately release the flame detector; otherwise, the burner will not function properly. The burner can only be restarted 3 minutes after the red light illuminates.


II. Precautions for using the boiler burner:


1. When connecting external circuits for automatic control of boiler temperature, pressure, and water level, please connect the wiring according to the control system wiring diagram.


2. The oil suction pipe should not be close to the bottom of the oil tank; maintain a distance of 80-120mm. The burner should be turned off before adding oil to the tank. The fuel must be filtered before being added to the tank, and the burner can only be restarted 20 minutes after adding oil. The oil system must not leak oil or air. Check that the fuel tank is full before starting the burner.


3. The size of the damper should match the nozzle specification. When using the burner, since the boiler supplied with the burner may differ from the boiler used for factory testing, the damper generally needs to be adjusted appropriately, and sometimes it may be necessary to replace the nozzle with one of suitable specification and injection angle.


4. The ambient temperature for the burner's operation should not exceed 70℃; otherwise, cooling and insulation measures should be taken. In colder regions, appropriate insulation measures should be taken for the oil storage device and the oil supply and return pipeline system to prevent oil circuit blockage due to freezing. Simultaneously, the burner's control circuit should not be exposed to moisture or high temperatures. The burner should be turned off when cleaning the chimney.


5. The motor should be protected from moisture and should not be used in humid environments.


6. The burner should be installed in a balanced manner, preferably horizontally or vertically, avoiding tilted operation.


7. When direct operation of the burner is inconvenient, an external control switch and electrical protection device should be used.


8. Regularly check the burner and the connections of all components for tightness, looseness, and any changes in position.


9. When starting the burner, take precautions against sudden flame bursts that could injure people or damage property.


III. Regular Maintenance Precautions for Boiler Burners:


1. The light diesel oil used must be clean. Please clean the oil tank and oil filter regularly.


2. Under normal use, replace the oil nozzles once a year, and replace the flexible coupling and its rubber parts every 1.5 years.


3. Foreign objects must not enter the air duct.


4. The burner operating area should be kept away from flammable and explosive materials, and fire extinguishing equipment should be readily available.


5. Adjust the oil pressure appropriately according to the oil pressure gauge reading.


6. Regularly inspect the combustion chamber, impeller, flame detector, and ignition electrode, removing oil and carbon deposits. The flame detector, in particular, should be kept clean and free from water.


7. Always disconnect the power supply when maintaining the burner.
